Diagnostic Test

1) DISCONNECT THE REAR SPOILER SWITCH

Turn the ignition off.

Disconnect the Rear Spoiler Switch harness connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.

Measure the resistance of the Rear Spoiler Diagnostic LED Control circuit at the Rear Spoiler Switch harness connector.

Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

No
1. Replace the Rear Spoiler Switch.
2. Perform REAR SPOILER VERIFICATION TEST .
Yes
1. Go to 2).
2) MEASURE THE VOLTAGE OF THE LED CONTROL CIRCUIT

Turn the ignition off.

Disconnect the BCM harness connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.

Turn the ignition on.

Measure the resistance of the Rear Spoiler Diagnostic LED Control circuit at the Rear Spoiler Switch harness connector.

Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

Yes
1. Repair the Rear Spoiler Diagnostic LED Control circuit for a short to ground.
2. Perform REAR SPOILER VERIFICATION TEST .
No
1. Go to 3).
3) MEASURE THE VOLTAGE OF THE LED CONTROL CIRCUIT

With the ignition off.

Disconnect the BCM harness connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.

Turn the ignition on.

Measure the resistance of the Rear Spoiler Diagnostic LED Control circuit from the Rear Spoiler Switch harness connector to the BCM C4 harness connector.

Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

No
1. Repair the Rear Spoiler Diagnostic LED Control circuit for an open.
2. Perform REAR SPOILER VERIFICATION TEST .
Yes
1. Replace the Body Control Module. Refer to REMOVAL .
2. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
