Diagnostic Test

1) REAR SPOILER SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO B(+)

Turn the ignition off.

Disconnect the BCM C4 harness connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.

Turn the ignition on.

Measure the voltage of the Rear Spoiler Switch Sense circuit at the BCM C4 harness connector.

Is voltage above 1.0 volts?

Yes
1. Repair the Rear Spoiler Switch Sense circuit for a short to B(+).
2. Perform REAR SPOILER VERIFICATION TEST .
No
1. Go to 2).

Turn the ignition off.

Measure the resistance between ground and the Rear Spoiler Switch Sense circuit at the BCM C4 harness connector.

Is the resistance below 100K ohms?

Yes
1. Go to 3).
No
1. Replace the Body Control Module. Refer to REMOVAL .
2. Perform REAR SPOILER VERIFICATION TEST .
3) REAR SPOILER SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND

With the ignition off.

Disconnect the Rear Spoiler Switch harness connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.

Measure the resistance between ground and the Rear Spoiler Switch Sense circuit at the BCM C4 harness connector.

Is the resistance below 100K ohms?

Yes
1. Repair the Rear Spoiler Switch Sense circuit for a short to ground.
2. Perform REAR SPOILER VERIFICATION TEST .
No
1. Replace the Rear Spoiler Switch.
2. Perform REAR SPOILER VERIFICATION TEST .
