Standard Procedure - Opening DECKLID When Hydraulic System Has Failed

NOTE: Use this procedure to open the decklid if the hydraulic system has failed and the decklid can not be unlatched.

NOTE: This procedure will destroy the rear crossmember panel (behind the seats). The panel must be replaced at the end of the procedure.

1. Remove the screws (1) and the upper covers (3) from the left and right door opening (3).

   NOTE: The B-pillar covers can be removed with the front crossmember cover as an assembly.
2. Remove the hooks (1), the retainers (2), and the front crossmember cover (3).

3. Remove the bolts (1) and the reinforcement bracket (2) from the left side sport bar.

   NOTE: The access hole must be cut in order to access the rear bow latch.
4. Using an appropriate tool, cut an access hole (1) in the rear crossmember panel (2), just to the driver's side of the sport bar (3).

5. Using a 6 mm hex wrench (1), release the rear bow latch (2) through the access hole in the rear crossmember panel.

6. Lift the rear bow and secure it in the upright position.
7. Release the tonneau cover latch using the multifunction tool.
8. Open the tonneau cover and secure it in the upright position.
9. Fold the luggage compartment separator into the front position to gain access to the luggage compartment.
10. Remove the decklid trim panel. See REMOVAL .
11. Reach through the tonneau compartment and release the decklid latch (1) by pushing the pushrod with a screwdriver (2).
12. Open the decklid.
13. Install any parts removed during the procedure.
