1 - ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

The engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor (1) threads into the rear of the cylinder head, below the thermostat housing. New sensors have sealant applied to the threads. The ECT Sensor is a Negative Thermal Coefficient (NTC) sensor. See Fig 1.
