2.2L Diesel

NOTE: Before proceeding, (Refer to STEERING - WARNING) .
  1. Siphon as much fluid as possible from power steering fluid reservoir.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. (Refer to LUBRICATION & MAINTENANCE/HOISTING - STANDARD PROCEDURE) .

    1 - ENGINE COMPARTMENT SILENCER
    2 - ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT SPLASH SHIELD
  3. Remove the lower engine compartment silencer assembly (1) and accessory drive belt splash shield (2).

    1 - PRESSURE HOSE TUBE NUT
    2 - REAR OF FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER
    3 - RETURN HOSE CLAMP
    4 - POWER STEERING GEAR - LHD SHOWN
  4. Back out the tube nut (1) securing the pressure hose to the power steering gear (4 - LHD shown-RHD typical).
  5. Pull the pressure hose tube out of the gear port and drain the fluid from the hose.

    3 - ENGINE OIL PAN
  6. Remove bolts securing the pressure hose (2) routing clamps to the engine oil pan (3).
  7. Remove accessory drive belt. (Refer to COOLING/ACCESSORY DRIVE/DRIVE BELT - REMOVAL) .

    2 - RIGHT FRAME RAIL
    3 - PRESSURE HOSE FITTING
    4 - PULLEY
  8. Remove the three bolts (1) securing the pulley (4) to the power steering pump. Remove the pulley.
  9. Back out the tube nut (3) securing the pressure hose to the power steering pump.
  10. Remove the pressure hose from the pump and vehicle.
