HVAC Systems (Service Information): Plumbing: Compressor-A/C: Removal
WARNING:

Failure to follow the warnings and cautions could result in possible personal injury or death.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system, (Refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM RECOVERY) .
- Remove the accessory drive belt, (Refer to COOLING/ACCESSORY DRIVE/DRIVE BELTS - REMOVAL) .
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the bolts (2 and 4) that secure the A/C suction line (5) and the A/C discharge line (1) to the A/C compressor (3).
- Disconnect the A/C suction and discharge lines from the A/C compressor and remove and discard the O-ring seals.
- Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and the compressor ports (2 and 3).
- Disconnect the engine wire harness connectors from the compressor clutch coil connector (1) and the A/C high pressure switch (4).
- Support the A/C compressor (6) and remove the four bolts (5) that secure the compressor to the mounting bracket (7).
- Remove the A/C compressor from the engine compartment.
