HVAC Systems (Service Information): Distribution: Motor-Blower: Removal

NOTE: The blower motor is located on the bottom right side of the HVAC housing. The blower motor can be removed from the vehicle without having to remove the HVAC housing.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the passenger side instrument panel silencer, (Refer to BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/SILENCER-INSTRUMENT PANEL - REMOVAL) .
  3. Remove the glove box, (Refer to BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/BIN-GLOVE BOX - REMOVAL) .
  4. Reach through the glove box opening and disengage the connector lock and disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector from the connector of the blower motor wire harness (3).
  5. Disengage the blower motor connector from the retainer located on the HVAC housing.
  6. From underneath of the instrument panel, remove the three screws (2) that secure the blower motor (1) to the bottom of the HVAC housing and remove the blower motor.
