Gear Shift Mechanism: Removal

1 - GEARSHIFT KNOB
  1. Pull up on gearshift knob (1) with moderate force to remove from gearshift mechanism. See Fig 1.

  2. Remove shifter boot/bezel assembly (1) from console by lifting up at mounting ring area. See Fig 2.

    1 - CENTER CONSOLE
  3. Remove the center console assembly (1). See Fig 3. Remove rear power window switch (if equipped) and disconnect harness from console.

    1 - GROMMET PLATE NUT
    2 - SHIFTER
    3 - CROSSOVER CABLE
    4 - CLIP
  4. Remove crossover cable retaining clip (4) and disconnect from shift lever. See Fig 4.

  5. Remove selector cable retaining clip (2) and disconnect from shift lever. See Fig 5.

    1 - SHIFTER ASSEMBLY
  6. Remove four shifter assy. (1) to floor pan nuts and remove shifter from vehicle. See Fig 6.
