Valve Body

NOTE: To ease installation of the valve body, turn the manual valve lever fully clockwise.

1 - OVERDRIVE PISTON AND SPRING
2 - UNDERDRIVE PISTON AND SPRING
  1. Install overdrive (1). See Fig 1and underdrive (2) accumulators and springs.

    2 - SCREWDRIVER
    3 - PARK SPRAG GUIDE BRACKET
  2. Guide park rod rollers (1) into guide bracket (2) while installing valve body to the transaxle case. See Fig 2.

  3. Install the valve body-to-case bolts (1). See Fig 3and torque to 12 N.m (105 in. lbs.).

  4. Install the oil filter (1). See Fig 4. Inspect the o-ring (2) for damage and replace as necessary.

    2 - 1/8 INCH BEAD OF RTV SEALANT
    3 - OIL FILTER
  5. Install an 1/8' bead of RTV (2) and install pan (1) to case. See Fig 5.

    1 - OIL PAN BOLTS (USE RTV UNDER BOLT HEADS)
  6. Install oil pan bolts (1) and torque to 19 N.m (165 in. lbs.) torque. See Fig 6.
  7. Lower vehicle.

  8. Install manual valve lever (2) to manual shaft. See Fig 7.
  9. Install gearshift cable (1) to manual valve lever.

  10. Install the battery tray (1). See Fig 8.

    1 - BATTERY
  11. Install the battery (1) and hold down clamp. See Fig 9.

  12. Install air cleaner assembly (1). See Fig 10.
  13. Connect battery cables.
  14. Fill transaxle with fluid. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  for proper fluid fill procedure.
