Front Seat Back: Removal: Coupe

WARNING: Before servicing the seat back the airbag system must be disarmed. Failure to do so may result in accidental deployment of the airbag and possible personal injury. Refer to RESTRAINTS - SERVICE INFORMATION for service procedures.

CAUTION: Do not reuse the recliner assembly attaching bolts.

1 - FRONT INNER SEAT BELT ATTACHING SCREW

2 - SHIELD ATTACHING SCREWS

Remove seat from vehicle. (Refer to BODY/SEATS/SEAT - REMOVAL) .
Remove front seat inboard cushion side shield.

Remove the seat back recliner handle/fold flat handle and front outboard seat cushion shield.

Remove seat armrest plug (2).

Remove seat armrest (1) and lumbar handle (3) if equipped.

Disengage seat back cover (1) and locking strip (2) across lower back cover.

2 - ZIP SEAT BACK COVER
Pull the zipper end(s) out on each side of the seat back and unzip the front seat back cover (1).

1 - PUSH PINS FASTENERS

2 - FRONT SEAT BACK COVER
Raise cover (2) and remove the push pins (1) and board.

1 - LUMBAR BRACKET ATTACHING SCREWS
Remove upper riser shield, if equipped.
Move seat cover and cushion to access the front seat back recliner.
Remove two attaching lumbar actuator screws (1) from the inner seat back frame.
Move lumbar actuator free the front seat back recliner.

Remove screws (2) attaching recliner to seat back cushion frame on both sides.

1 - REAR ATTACHING SCREW

2 - FRONT SEAT CUSHION
Vehicle with Seat Airbag and/or Heated Seat System, remove front seat cushion (2) frame. Remove two front side screws and two rear screws.
Disconnect any electrical connectors and wire ties from the seat back that are connected under the seat cushion, if equipped.
Remove seat back frame from seat assembly.
