Front Seat Back: Removal: Convertible
WARNING:
Before servicing the seat back the airbag system must be disarmed. Failure to do so may result in accidental deployment of the airbag and possible personal injury. Refer to RESTRAINTS - SERVICE INFORMATION
for service procedures.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse the recliner assembly attaching bolts.

- Remove seat from vehicle. (Refer to BODY/SEATS/SEAT - REMOVAL) .
- Remove front seat inboard cushion side shield (1).
1 - TILT FORWARD HANDLE 2 - ATTACHING SCREWS 3 - RECLINING HANDLE - Remove the seat back recliner handle/fold flat handle (1) and front outboard seat cushion shield.
1 - WIRE CONNECTORS - Disconnect electrical connectors (1), if equipped.
1 - ARMREST 2 - PLUG - Remove seat armrest plug (2).
1 - ARMREST 2 - ARMREST SCREW 3 - LUMBAR HANDLE 4 - LUMBAR HANDLE SCREW - Remove seat armrest (1) and lumbar handle (3) if equipped.
1 - UNZIP SEAT BACK COVER - Pull the zipper end(s) out on each side of the seat back and unzip the front seat back cover (1).
- Disengage seat back cover locking strip across lower back cover.
1 - HOG RINGS - Cut hog rings (1) and release cover.
- Remove upper riser shield, if equipped.
- Move seat cover and cushion to access the front seat back recliner.
1 - LUMBAR BRACKET ATTACHING SCREWS - Remove two attaching lumbar actuator screws (1) from the inner seat back frame.
1 - LUMBAR MOUNTING BRACKET - Move lumbar actuator (1) free the front seat back recliner.
1 - ATTACHING BOLTS - Remove screws (1) attaching recliner to seat back cushion frame on both sides.
1 - ATTACHING SCREWS 2 - TOWEL BAR - Vehicle with Seat Airbag and/or Heated Seat System, remove front seat cushion frame. Remove two front side screws (1) and two rear screws (2).
1 - FASTENER - Disconnect any electrical fasteners (1) and wire ties from the seat back that are connected under the seat cushion, if equipped.
- Remove seat back frame from seat assembly.
