Front Seat Back - With Front Seat Back Panel: Installation

WARNING: Before servicing the seat back the airbag system must be disarmed. Failure to do so may result in accidental deployment of the airbag and possible personal injury. Refer to RESTRAINTS - SERVICE INFORMATION for service procedures.

CAUTION: Do not reuse the recliner assembly attaching bolts.

1. Position seat back frame on seat cushion assembly.
2. Start the screws (2) attaching recliner to seat back cushion frame (1) on both sides.
3. Vehicle with Seat Airbag and/or Heated Seat System, connect electrical connector(s) under the seat cushion. Using wire ties secure the wire harness to the seat cushion frame.

4. Install two front side screws (1) to front seat cushion (2).

5. Install two rear side screws (1) to front seat cushion (2).
6. Tighten screws attaching recliner to seat cushion frame. Tighten screws to 12 N.m (9 ft. lbs.).

7. Place lumbar actuator into position, and install the two attaching lumbar actuator screws (1) from the inner seat back frame.

8. Pull seat cushion and seat cover into position. Engage the lower seat cover J-straps (1).

9. Engage J-straps (1).

10. Install front seat back panel (2).

11. Install seat armrest (1) and lumbar handle (3) if equipped.

12. Install seat armrest plug (2).

13. Connect wire connectors (1), if equipped.

14. Install front seat cushion shield and seat back recliner handle/fold flat handle.

15. Install the inner seat cushion shield and inner seat belt. Tighten seat belt anchor bolt to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).

    Install seat in vehicle.
