Assembly-Hydraulic Pump/Motor: Removal

  1. Position the convertible top in the raised position.
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the rear seat cushion (Refer to BODY/SEATS/CUSHION-REAR - REMOVAL) .
  4. Remove the interior quarter trim panels (Refer to BODY/INTERIOR/TRIM-REAR QUARTER PANEL - REMOVAL) .
  5. Remove the rear seat back (Refer to BODY/SEATS/SEAT BACK-REAR - REMOVAL) .
  6. Remove the push-pins (1) that secure the convertible top well (2) to the rear seat back panel (3) and body (4) and remove the well liner.

  7. Remove the protective cover (3) from the top of the hydraulic pump/motor assembly (4) located on the shelf panel (2).

  8. Disconnect the convertible top wire harness from the main body harness.
  9. Remove the two nuts (1) that secure the hydraulic pump/motor assembly to the top of the shelf panel.
  10. Remove the six retaining clips (3 per side) that secure the hydraulic hoses and convertible top wire harness to the body.

    NOTE: Place a reference mark along the outer edge of the shelf seat brackets to ensure they are installed back to the original position.
  11. Remove the three bolts and two nuts that secure each rear seat back support bracket (2) and remove both brackets.
  12. Remove the two bolts (1) that secure each hydraulic cylinder to the main pivot brackets.

  13. Remove each hydraulic cylinder (1) from the main pivot brackets and remove the hydraulic pump/motor assembly from the vehicle.
