Diagnostic Test
- 1) DTC PRESENT
With the scan tool, check for any Window, Power Top or Door Lock related DTC's.
Does the scan tool display any Window, Power Top or Door Lock related DTC's?
No
- Go To step 2).
Yes
- Refer to the appropriate DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX for problems related to Power Windows, Top or Door Locks.
- 2) WINDOW DROP SWITCH OPEN
Remove the door trim panel.
Disconnect the Door Latch C2 connector (on the latch assembly).
Connect a jumper wire between the (Q58/Q59) Window Drop Switch Sense circuit and ground.
With the scan tool, read the Pawl Switch status
Does the scan tool display Pawl Switch - CLOSED?
Yes
- Replace the Door Latch Assembly.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1) , also see (STANDARD PROCEDURE - PCM/ECM/SKREEM PROGRAMMING) .
No
- Go To step 3).
- 3) (Q58/Q59) WINDOW DROP SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN Fig 2: Measuring Resistance Of Window Drop Switch Sense Circuit Between Door Latch C2 Connector And Window Module Connector

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Regulator Module connector.
Measure the resistance of the (Q58/Q59) Window Drop Switch Sense circuit between the Door Latch C2 connector and the Window Module Connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Window Regulator Module Assembly in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1) , also see (STANDARD PROCEDURE - PCM/ECM/SKREEM PROGRAMMING) .
No
- Repair the (Q58/Q59) Window Drop Switch Sense circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1) , also see (STANDARD PROCEDURE - PCM/ECM/SKREEM PROGRAMMING) .
