Diagnostic Test
- 1) DTC PRESENT
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Are there any window or door lock related DTC's
Yes
- Refer to the appropriate DTC in DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX table for problems related to POWER WINDOWS or POWER DOOR LOCKS.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1) , also see (STANDARD PROCEDURE - PCM/ECM/SKREEM PROGRAMMING) .
No
- Go To step 2).
- 2) WINDOW DROP SWITCH SHORTED
NOTE: Ensure the window stops and the window alignment is properly adjusted before proceeding.
Disconnect the Door Latch C2 connector (on the latch assembly).
Close the appropriate door.
Raise the window to the fully closed position.
Does the window glass now travel to the full closed position
Yes
- Replace the Door Latch Assembly.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1) , also see (STANDARD PROCEDURE - PCM/ECM/SKREEM PROGRAMMING) .
No
- Go To step 3).
- 3) (Q58/Q59) WINDOW DROP SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Regulator Module connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (Q58/Q59) Window Drop Switch Sense circuit.
Is the resistance below 1,000.0 ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (Q58/9) Window Drop Switch Sense circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1) , also see (STANDARD PROCEDURE - PCM/ECM/SKREEM PROGRAMMING) .
No
- Replace the Window Regulator Module in accordance with Service Information.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1) , also see (STANDARD PROCEDURE - PCM/ECM/SKREEM PROGRAMMING) .
