Hydraulic Pump Bypass Screw
NOTE:
Always verify that the bypass screw is tight in the pump housing prior to replacing a hydraulic pump/motor assembly.
The convertible top system is equipped with a hydraulic bypass screw that is used to relieve pressure from the hydraulic system in the event that the top must be manually raised or lowered (such as a low battery or a convertible top operating concern). Use the following procedure if the convertible top must be manually raised or lowered.
- Open the luggage compartment door.
- Turn the bypass screw (1) located on the bottom of the shelf panel (2) counterclockwise until the screw stops turning.
- Carefully manually raise or lower the convertible top as necessary.
- Once the convertible top is in the required position, turn the bypass screw (1) located on the bottom of the shelf panel (2) clockwise until seated. Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.).
- Close the luggage compartment door.
