Front Seat Back Cover - Without Front Seat Back Panel: Removal

1 - FRONT HEADREST
2 - RELEASE BUTTON
WARNING: Before servicing the seat back cover the airbag system must be disarmed. Failure to do so may result in accidental deployment of the airbag and possible personal injury. Refer to RESTRAINTS - SERVICE INFORMATION for service procedures.
  1. Remove seat from vehicle.
  2. Remove headrest (1).

  3. Remove headrest adjuster caps (2).

  4. Remove seat armrest plug (2).

    3 - LUMBAR HANDLE
    4 - LUMBAR HANDLE SCREW
  5. Remove seat armrest (1) and lumbar handle (2) if equipped.
  6. Remove upper riser shield, if equipped.
  7. Vehicle with Seat Airbag and/or Heated Seat System, will need to remove front seat cushion frame.
  8. Remove the seat back recliner handle/fold flat handle and front seat cushion shield. Disconnect wire connectors, if equipped.

  9. Remove front inner seat belt attaching screw (1) and inboard seat side shield.

  10. Remove front and rear seat cushion screws (1).
  11. Disconnect any electrical connectors and wire ties from the seat back that are connected under the seat cushion, if equipped.

  12. Disengage seat back cover locking strip (2) across lower back cover (1).

  13. Pull the zipper (2) end(s) out on each side of the seat back and unzip the front seat back cover (1).

  14. Raise cover (2) and remove the push pins (1).

  15. Roll seat back cover to clear seat airbag plastic cover (1) and remove cover.

  16. Remove nuts (3) attaching seat airbag to seat back frame.
  17. Remove seat airbag from the sleeve in the seat back cover (1).

    1 - VELCRO® STRIPS
  18. Roll seat back cover upward to disengage the Velcro® strips (1).
  19. Remove front seat back cover for cushion and frame.
