Diagnostic Procedure

FUEL SENSOR 1 SHORT - BCM SYMPTOM CHART

TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Fuel Pump Module harness connector.
Turn the ignition on, with the DRBIII®, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII® display "Fuel Sensor 1 Open"?
Yes --> Replace the Fuel Level Sensor in accordance with the Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .
No --> Go To 2		 All
2 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Fuel Pump Module harness connector.
Disconnect the BCM harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Fuel Level Sense 1 circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes --> Repair the Fuel Level Sense 1 circuit for a short to ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .
No --> Replace and program the BCM in accordance with the Service Information.
