Front Seat Back Cover/Foam: Removal: Notes
WARNING:
BEFORE SERVICING THE SEAT BACK COVER THE AIRBAG SYSTEM MUST BE DISARMED. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY. REFER TO RESTRAINTS
FOR SERVICE PROCEDURES.
- Remove seat from vehicle.
- Remove headrest. See Fig 1.
1 - FRONT HEADREST 2 - RELEASE BUTTON - Remove headrest adjuster caps. See Fig 2 and Fig 3.
1 - TRIM TOOL 2 - HEADREST ADJUSTER CAP 1 - HEADREST ADJUSTER CAP WITH RELEASE TAB 2 - HEADREST ADJUSTER CAP WITH BUTTON - Remove seat armrest plug. See Fig 4.
1 - ARMREST 2 - PLUG - Remove seat armrest and lumbar handle if equipped. See Fig 5.
1 - ARMREST 2 - ARMREST SCREW 3 - LUMBAR HANDLE 4 - LUMBAR HANDLE SCREW - Remove upper riser shield, if equipped.
- Remove front seat back panel. See Fig 6.
1 - ATTACHING SCREWS 2 - FRONT SEAT BACK PANEL - Disengage seat back cover J-straps. See Fig 7
1- J-STRAPS - Disengage the lower seat cover J-straps. See Fig 8.
1 - LOWER J-STRAPS - Vehicle with Seat Airbag and/or Heated Seat System, will need to remove front seat cushion frame.
- Remove the seat back recliner handle/fold flat handle and front seat cushion shield Disconnect wire connectors, if equipped. See Fig 9 and Fig 10.
1 - ATTACHING SCREWS - Remove front inner seat belt attaching screw and inboard seat side shield. See Fig 10.
1 - FRONT INNER SEAT BELT ATTACHING SCREW 2 - SHIELD ATTACHING SCREWS - Remove front seat cushion two front side screws and two rear screws. See Fig 11 and Fig 12.
1 - FRONT SIDE ATTACHING SCREW 2 - FRONT SEAT CUSHION 1 - REAR ATTACHING SCREW 2 - FRONT SEAT CUSHION - Disconnect any electrical connectors and wire ties from the seat back that are connected under the seat cushion, if equipped.
- Roll seat back cover to clear seat airbag plastic cover and remove cover. See Fig 13.
1 - SIDE AIRBAG PLASTIC COVER 2 - ATTACHING SCREW - Remove nuts attaching seat airbag to seat back frame. See Fig 14.
1 - SEAT BACK COVER 2 - SEAT BACK CUSHION 3 - SEAT AIRBAG ATTACHING NUTS - Remove seat airbag from the sleeve in the seat back cover.
- Roll seat back cover upward to show hog rings. Cut hog rings to free cover. See Fig 15.
1 - SEAT COVER 2 - HOG RINGS 3 - CUSHION - Remove front seat back from cushion and seat frame.
