Test 3C: Orc Messages Not Received

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE: Prior to performing any air bag system test, go to PRETEST INSPECTION & DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  under DIAGNOSTICS. Perform air bag verification test after all repairs unless otherwise directed. See TEST VER-1: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using DRBIII, attempt to communicate with Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC). If DRBIII is able to communicate with ORC, go to next step. If DRBIII is unable to communicate with ORC, See TEST 1C: VEHICLE COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS .
  2. Using DRBIII, erase Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Turn ignition switch to ON position and wait at least one minute. On DRBIII, read DTCs. If DRBIII displays ORC MESSAGES NOT RECEIVED, replace Body Control Module. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If DRBIII does not display ORC MESSAGES NOT RECEIVED, system is operating normally at this time.
