LOSS OF COMMUNICATION ON PRIVATE BUS - SDARS - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

| 1 | Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Satellite Receiver Module harness connector. Disconnect the Satellite Radio Multiplexer harness connector. Measure the resistance between ground and the Audio Bus I circuit between the Receiver and Multiplexer. Is the resistance below 100 ohms?

| 2 | Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Satellite Radio Receiver harness connector. Disconnect the Satellite Radio Multiplexer harness connector. Measure the resistance between ground and the Audio Bus I circuit between the Receiver and Multiplexer. Is the resistance above 5 ohms?

| 3 | Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Satellite Receiver Module harness connector. Disconnect the Satellite Radio Multiplexer harness connector. Turn the ignition on. Using a DVOM, probe the Audio Bus I circuit. Is the voltage above 2 volts?

| 4 | Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Satellite Receiver Module harness connector. Disconnect the Satellite Radio Multiplexer harness connector. Measure the resistance between ground and the Audio Bus I circuit between the Radio and Multiplexer. Is the resistance below 100 ohms?

| 5 | Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Satellite Radio Receiver harness connector. Disconnect the Satellite Radio Multiplexer harness connector. Measure the resistance of the Audio Bus I circuit between the Radio and the Multiplexer. Is the resistance above 5 ohms?

| 6 | Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Satellite Receiver Module harness connector. Disconnect the Satellite Radio Multiplexer harness connector. Turn the ignition on. Using a DVOM, probe the Audio Bus I circuit. Is the voltage above 2 volts?

| 7 | Turn the ignition off.
NOTE:
Before Continuing: Disconnect the Satellite Receiver harness connector and check the related wiring terminals for corrosion, damage or terminal push out. Repair as necessary.

Before Continuing: Disconnect the Satellite Radio Multiplexer harness connector and check the related wiring terminals for corrosion, damage or terminal push out. Repair as necessary.
NOTE:
Before Continuing: Disconnect the Radio harness connector and check the related wiring terminals for corrosion, damage or terminal push out. Repair as necessary. Using the schematics as a guide, inspect the wire harness and connectors, repair as necessary. Pay particular attention to all Power and Ground circuits. Replace the Satellite Radio Multiplexer in accordance with the service information. Reconnect harness connectors and start the engine. Does the DTC set?

| 8 | Replace the Satellite Receiver Module in accordance with the service information. Start the vehicle and operate the Satellite Radio. Does the DTC return?

| 9 | If there are no other possible causes remaining, view repair.
