Possible Causes

  1. DTC INTERMITTENT CONDITION
  2. PCM DTC PRESENT
  3. NAVIGATION UNIT
PCM MESSAGES NOT RECEIVED

TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 With the DRBIII®, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from on to off and then back to on
Turn the Navigation System on and try to select a location.
With the DRBIII®, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII® display PCM MESSAGES NOT RECEIVED?
  1. No: The condition is not present at this time. Monitor DRBIII® parameters while wiggling the related wire harness. Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) that may apply. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connector terminals.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .

  2. Yes: Go To 2

NOTE: Diagnose and repair any PCM DTCs present before proceeding with this test.
Turn the ignition on.With the DRBIII® monitor the Vehicle Speed while moving the vehicle.Does the DRBIII® display Vehicle Speed correctly?
  1. Yes: With the DRBIII®, erase DTCs. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII®, read DTCs. If this code resets, replace the Navigation Unit in accordance with the Service Information.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .

  2. No: Refer to POWERTRAIN DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES for the related symptom(s).
