Diagnostic Procedure

FUEL SENSOR 1 SHORT - BCM (LATE BUILD VEHICLES ONLY) - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Fuel Pump Module harness connector.
Turn the ignition on, with the DRBIII®, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII® display "Fuel Sensor 1 Open"?
  1. Yes: Replace the Fuel Level Sensor in accordance with the Service Information.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .

  2. No: Go to 2.

2 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Fuel Pump Module harness connector.
Disconnect the BCM harness connector.
Measure resistance between ground and the Fuel Level Sense 1 circuit.
Is the resistance below 5 ohms?
  1. Yes: Repair the Fuel Level Sense 1 circuit for a short to ground.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .

  2. No: Replace and program the BCM in accordance with the Service Information.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .
