Diagnostic Procedure

DRIVER THERMISTOR OUT OF RANGE LOW - MHSAPM - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 With the DRBIII®, erase the DTC from Memory/Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module.
Turn the ignition switch to the Off position then start the engine and let run for one minute.
Operate the heated seat system.
With the DRBIII® check for the same DTC to reset in the MHSAPM.
Did the same DTC reset?
  1. Yes: Go To 2
  2. No: Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .

2 Disconnect the Driver Heated Seat Cushion 4-way connector.
Turn ignition on.
Turn the Driver Heated Seat Switch on.
Measure the voltage of the Seat Sensor 5 Volt Supply circuit to ground.
Is the voltage below 4.5 volts?
  1. No: Go To 3
  2. Yes: Go To 7

3 Disconnect the Driver Heated Seat Cushion 4-way connector.
Disconnect the Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module C2 connector.
Turn ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the Driver Seat Temperature Sensor Input circuit from the MHSAPM connector to the driver heated seat cushion connector harness side.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
  1. Yes: Go To 4
  2. No: Repair the open Driver Seat Temperature Sensor Input circuit.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .

All
4 Disconnect the Driver Heated Seat Cushion 4-way connector.
Turn ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the Driver Seat Temp Sensor Input in heated seat cushion connector to body ground.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms, should be infinite?
  1. Yes: Replace the Driver Seat Cushion/Element as necessary.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .

  2. No: Go To 5

5 Disconnect the Driver Heated Seat Cushion 4-way connector.
Disconnect the Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module C2 connector.
Turn ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the Driver Seat Temperature Sensor Input circuit to ground.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
  1. Yes: Repair the Driver Seat Temperature Sensor Input circuit for a short to ground.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .

  2. No: Go To 6
All
6 Disconnect the Driver Heated Seat Cushion 4-way connector.
Turn ignition off.
Measure the resistance between the Driver Seat Temperature Sensor 5 Volt Supply circuit and the Driver Seat Temperature Sensor Input circuit in the heated seat cushion connector, cushion side.
Is the resistance below 10000 (10K) ohms?
  1. Yes: Replace the Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .

  2. No: Replace the Driver Seat Cushion/Element as necessary.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .

All
7 Disconnect the Driver Heated Seat Cushion 4-way connector.
Disconnect the Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module C2 connector.
Turn ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the Driver Seat Temperature Sensor 5 Volt Supply circuit to ground.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms? Should be infinite.
  1. Yes: Repair the Driver Seat Temperature Sensor 5 Volt Supply for a short to Ground.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .

  2. No: Go To 8
All
8 Disconnect the Driver Heated Seat Cushion 4-way connector.
Disconnect the Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Module C2 connector.
Turn ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the Driver Seat Temperature Sensor 5 Volt Supply wire between the MHSAPM connector and the driver heated seat cushion connector, harness side.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
  1. Yes: Replace the Memory Heated Seat Adjustable Pedal Module.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .

  2. No: Repair the open Driver Seat Temperature Sensor 5 Volt Supply circuit.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .
