Parking Brake Shoes: Removal

  1. Remove disc brake caliper from adapter and rotor. See REAR DISC BRAKE SHOES .
  2. Remove rotor from hub/bearing.
  3. Remove dust cap from hub/bearing .
  4. Remove hub/bearing rear retaining nut and washer.
  5. Remove hub/bearing from knuckle.
  6. Remove hold down clip from rear parking brake shoe.
  7. Turn parking brake shoe adjuster wheel until adjuster is at its shortest length.
  8. Remove the parking brake shoe adjuster from the parking brake shoes.
  9. Remove the lower return spring between the parking brake shoes.
  10. Pull the rear parking brake shoe away from the caliper adapter. Remove the upper return spring from between the parking brake shoes.
  11. Remove the holddown clip from the front parking brake shoe. Then remove front parking brake shoe.
