Installation (Rear)

- If NEW brake shoes have been installed, completely retract caliper piston back into piston bore of caliper assembly.
- Lubricate both adapter abutments with a liberal amount of Mopar(R) Multipurpose Lubricant, or equivalent.
- Install the rear rotor on the hub. See ROTOR . Ensure face rotor is squarely seated on the face of the hub.
- Carefully lower caliper and brake shoes over rotor and onto the adapter reversing removal procedure. See Figure .
- Install the caliper guide pin bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install tire and wheel assembly. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove support and lower vehicle.
- Road test the vehicle and make several stops to wear off any foreign material on the brakes and to seat the brake shoe linings.
CAUTION:
Use care when installing the caliper assembly onto the adapter, so the caliper guide pin bushings do not get damaged by the mounting bosses.
CAUTION:
During installation, guide pin bolts, extreme caution should be taken not to cross-thread the caliper guide pin bolts.
