Brake Pedal: Installation

- Make sure the pedal has a properly installed bushing on each side of the pedal. See Figure .
- Lubricate the brake pedal pivot shaft and brake pedal bushings using Mopar(R) Lubriplate or an equivalent.
- Install the brake pedal in the pedal bracket. See Figure . Align the hole in brake pedal with the pivot shaft holes in the pedal bracket.
- Install the brake pedal shaft. See Figure .
- Install the nut on the end of the brake pedal pivot shaft. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the power brake booster input rod on the brake pedal pin.
- Install a NEW retaining clip on the brake pedal pin
- Install brake lamp switch. See BRAKE LAMP SWITCH .
- Connect the remote battery ground cable to the ground stud on the right front strut tower.
- Check the operation of the brakes and brake lamp switch.
CAUTION:
When installing the retaining clip on the brake pedal pin, a NEW retaining clip must be used to ensure the retention of the power brake booster.
