Monitored & Set Conditions

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

EVAP leak monitor is monitored immediately after a cold start, fuel level greater than 12 percent, ambient temperature 40-90°F (4-32°C) and fuel system in closed loop. Test runs when small leak test is maturing. The PCM activates the EVAP Purge Solenoid to pull the EVAP system into a vacuum to close the NVLD switch. Once the NVLD switch is closed, the PCM turns the EVAP Purge solenoid off to seal the EVAP system. If the NVLD switch reopens before the calibrated amount of time for a Medium leak (DTC P0442) or Large leak (DTC P0455) an error is detected. DTC is a two trip fault.
