Circuit Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

DTC P1799 will set if continuous erratic thermistor voltage is sensed. Thermistor temperature remains less than 80°F (27 °C) for an extended period of time. If transmission temperature sensor indicates a temperature below 0°F (-17.7°C) or above 240°F (115.5°C) at startup, PCM compares calculated oil temperature to indicate temperature sensor value. If calculated oil temperature differs significantly from sensor value, calculated oil temperature will be used for that key cycle.
