Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Perform oil cooler flow check. See LUBRICATION in appropriate SERVICING article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. Repair clogged oil cooler as necessary. If oil cooler flow check passes, go to next step.
  2. Perform engine cooling system diagnosis. If engine cooling system is not functioning properly, repair as necessary. If engine cooling system is functioning properly, go to next step.
  3. Ensure engine and transaxle are at normal operating temperature, and transmission fluid is at proper level. Adjust as necessary and retest. If fluid level is okay, go to next step.
  4. This DTC is an informational code to aid in diagnosis of shift quality complaints. The DTC indicates transaxle has been operating in overheat shift schedule. Customer driving conditions may indicate a need for an additional transaxle oil cooler. Repair as necessary.
