Circuit Description

DTC P0120 will set if throttle angle is out of range or changes abruptly (faster than throttle body motion could occur). Effects on transaxle can be extremely erratic shifting with an intermittent TP sensor signal just prior to setting the code. If the intermittent does not last long enough to set the code, the customer will say that the transaxle violently hunts between gears. Transaxle control system will use a "calculated throttle angle" supplied by the PCM. PCM will use a default throttle angle of 25 degrees for the ignition key start in which the code was set. The PCM will try to use the TP sensor signal again on the next ignition key start.
