Retrieving & Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

NOTE:
DTC retrieval and clearing procedures are written specifically for Chrysler Diagnostic Readout Box (DRBIII(R)) scan tool. A generic scan tool may not be capable of performing all necessary functions.
- Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Ensure there is communication with Body Control Module (BCM). If scan tool communicates with BCM, go to next step. If any communication problems exist, repair communications concern before proceeding. See BODY CONTROL MODULES - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M article.
- Using scan tool, select BODY SYSTEM, BODY COMPUTER, then READ DTCS. If any BCM DTCs exist, go to SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in BODY CONTROL MODULES - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M article. If no BCM DTCs exist, go to SYSTEM TESTS .
- To clear DTCs, use scan tool to select BODY SYSTEM, BODY COMPUTER, then CLEAR DTCS.
