Test 26A: Air Bag Warning Light On Without Trouble Codes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Prior to performing any air bag system test, go to PRETEST INSPECTION & DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  under DIAGNOSTICS. Perform TEST VER-1: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST  after all repairs unless otherwise directed.
All active Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)s must be diagnosed and resolved prior to performing this procedure.

Connect DRBIII to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to ON position. Connect negative battery cable. On DRBIII, select PASSIVE RESTRAINTS, AIRBAG, MONITOR DISPLAY and WARNING LIGHT STATUS. If DRBIII displays LIGHT REQ BY ACM: ON, replace Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC). See OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If DRBIII does not display LIGHT REQ BY ACM: ON, diagnose and repair instrument cluster and/or related circuits.
