Test 1B: Repairing Stored Codes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Prior to performing any air bag system test, go to PRETEST INSPECTION & DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  under DIAGNOSTICS. Perform TEST VER-1: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST  after all repairs unless otherwise directed.
  1. Ensure battery is fully charged and active Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) have been resolved. Remove any special tools and jumper wires. Reconnect any previously disconnected components, except battery. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Connect negative battery cable, if necessary. Using DRBIII, record and erase all DTCs from all modules. Use DRBIII to monitor active DTCs during procedure.
  2. Maintaining safe distance from deployable devices, Wiggle SRS wiring harness and connectors and rotate steering wheel from stop-to-stop. Visually inspect related wiring harness connectors looking for broken, bent, pushed-out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Inspect harness for chafed, pierced, pinched or partially broken wires. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Recheck DRBIII for DTC periodically during checks. If DTC became active, go to appropriate test. If DTC did not become active, erase all DTCs.
