Side Air Bag Module

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The side air bag module, also known as seat air bag, is mounted to outboard sides of front seat back frames beneath seat cover. It contains a squib, air bag cushion, pyrotechnic initiator and argon gas inflator. Upon sufficient lateral (side) impact, SIACM actuates side air bag inflator, deploying air bag.
