Removal (2.7L)

  1. Release fuel pressure from fuel system. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air intake hose and air cleaner assembly. Remove throttle cable shield.
  2. Remove throttle and speed control cables from throttle arm and bracket. Remove throttle cable bracket. Disconnect harness connectors from manifold absolute pressure sensor, TP sensor, idle air control motor and manifold tuning valve.
  3. Disconnect EVAP purge hose, brake booster hose, speed control servo hose and PCV hose. Remove upper EGR tube mounting screws at intake manifold plenum and EGR valve. Remove upper EGR tube. Loosen upper fasteners at throttle body support bracket.
  4. Remove upper intake manifold mounting bolts. Remove upper intake manifold. Cover lower intake manifold to prevent foreign material from entering engine. Disconnect fuel supply tube quick connect fittings at rear of intake manifold using proper procedure for fuel line disconnect fitting. See FUEL LINE DISCONNECT FITTINGS .
  5. Mark injector harness connectors for installation reference. Disconnect injector harness connectors. Remove fuel rail mounting bolts. Lift fuel rail straight upward off of cylinder head. Remove injector retaining clips at fuel rail. Remove injectors.
