Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Stratus and 2002 Chrysler Sebring. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Fuel pump inlet strainer is mounted to bottom of fuel pump module. Remove fuel pump module. See FUEL PUMP MODULE .
  2. Spread locking tabs on bottom of fuel pump module and remove fuel pump inlet strainer from fuel pump module. See Fig 1. Remove "O" ring from end of fuel pump module.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure using NEW "O" ring. Lightly lubricate "O" ring with clean engine oil before installing. Install "O" ring in fuel pump inlet strainer before installing fuel pump inlet strainer on fuel pump module.
  4. Ensure "O" ring sets evenly on inside of fuel pump inlet strainer. Ensure locking tabs on fuel pump module fully engage on fuel pump inlet strainer. Reinstall fuel pump module using proper procedure. See FUEL PUMP MODULE .
