Removal (2.7L)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Stratus and 2002 Chrysler Sebring. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Upstream oxygen sensors (1/1 and 2/1 sensors) are located on exhaust manifolds. See Figure. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner (for rear sensor). Disconnect oxygen sensor harness connector. Using Oxygen Sensor Remover/Installer (8439), remove oxygen sensor.

CAUTION: When disconnecting the oxygen sensor connector, do not pull directly on wire going into sensor.
