Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Stratus and 2002 Chrysler Sebring. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Brake switch is located near top of brake pedal. Depress and hold brake pedal. Remove brake switch by rotating counterclockwise about 30 degrees and pulling rearward out of mounting bracket. Disconnect brake switch harness connector.
  2. To install, connect brake switch harness connector. Pull brake switch plunger outward until it has ratcheted out to its fully extended position. Depress and hold brake pedal as far down as possible. Install switch in bracket by aligning index tab on switch with slot in mounting bracket.
  3. When switch is fully seated in mounting bracket, rotate switch clockwise about 30 degrees to lock switch into place. Gently release and pull back on brake pedal until pedal stops moving. Brake switch is now adjusted. Ensure stoplights are operating properly.
