Installation (2.7L)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Stratus and 2002 Chrysler Sebring. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install lower EGR tube-to-EGR valve bolts. Tighten inboard bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Hand tighten outboard bolt. Locate tube in approximate position needed for reassembly.
  2. Tighten inboard bolt to specification. Install NEW gasket between EGR valve and cylinder head. Loosely install EGR valve-to-cylinder head bolts. Install NEW gasket and upper EGR tube-to-EGR valve bolts. Raise and support vehicle.
  3. Rotate lower EGR tube into position. Install NEW gasket between lower EGR tube and exhaust manifold. Install lower EGR tube-to-exhaust manifold bolts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Lower vehicle.
  4. Tighten EGR valve-to-cylinder head bolts to specification. Tighten outboard lower EGR tube-to-EGR valve bolt to specification. Tighten upper EGR tube-to-EGR valve bolts to specification. Tighten upper EGR tube-to-intake manifold bolts to specification. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
