Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Stratus and 2002 Chrysler Sebring. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is located on left side of engine compartment, near air filter housing. See Fig 1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove air cleaner box. Disconnect PCM harness connectors. Remove 2 PCM retaining bolts and one nut. Remove PCM with mounting bracket. Remove PCM from bracket.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts and nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Program PCM as necessary. See PROGRAMMING POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE .
