Removal & Installation

  1. All engines are equipped with a coil on plug ignition system. Each cylinder has a dedicated coil that sits atop each spark plug. Ensure area around ignition coil is clean before removing. Disconnect ignition coil harness connector. Remove ignition coil retaining bolts.
  2. On 3.5L, loosen ignition coil retaining bolts evenly. On all engines, DO NOT lose spacers located under ignition coil when removing. Remove ignition coil. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten ignition coil retaining bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
