Transmission Range Sensor: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. To install, reverse removal procedure using NEW transaxle oil filter "O" ring. Apply a 1/8" bead of RTV sealant on oil pan sealing surfaces before installing oil pan.
  2. Tighten TRS retaining screw, transaxle oil filter retaining clip bolts, valve body-to-transaxle case bolts and oil pan bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Add 4.0 qts. (3.8L) of Mopar ATF+4 Type 9602 fluid to transaxle. Start engine and shift transaxle through all gears and back to Park. Add additional fluid to bring fluid level to 1/8" below ADD mark on dipstick. Recheck fluid level with transaxle at normal operating temperature. Adjust fluid level so fluid level is within HOT range on dipstick.
