Downstream Oxygen Sensor: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Downstream oxygen sensors (1/2 and 2/2 sensors) are mounted on outlet side of each catalytic converter just below exhaust manifold. See Figure. Disconnect negative battery cable at remote battery terminal on passenger's side strut tower. Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect electrical connector for downstream oxygen sensor. Using Socket (YA8875), remove downstream oxygen sensor from exhaust pipe.
