No Pointer Movement (Internal Cluster Failure)

  1. Perform instrument cluster self-test and check for DTCs. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SELF-TEST  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Go to next step.
  2. If temperature gauge pointer moves to all calibration points during self-test, failure is not in the instrument cluster. Go to NO POINTER MOVEMENT (NO PCI BUS TEMPERATURE OR COLD PCI BUS MESSAGE FROM BCM) . If pointer does not move during calibration test, go to next step.
  3. Remove instrument cluster from instrument panel. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check for power and ground at instrument cluster connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If any problem is found, repair as necessary. If no problem is found, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
