No Pointer Movement (Internal Cluster Failure)

  1. Perform instrument cluster self-test and check for DTCs. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SELF-TEST  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Go to next step.
  2. If speedometer gauge pointer moves to all calibration points during self-test, look for another possible failure. Go to NO POINTER MOVEMENT (NO SPEED PCI BUS MESSAGE OR ZERO MPH PCI BUS MESSAGE) . If pointer does not move during calibration test, go to next step.
  3. Remove instrument cluster from instrument panel. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check power and ground circuits at instrument cluster connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If any problem is found, repair wiring as necessary. If no problem is found, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
