Wheel Cylinders: Installation

  1. Apply sealant such as Mopar® Gasket-In-A-Tube or equivalent, around the wheel cylinder opening in the brake support plate.
  2. Install wheel cylinder onto brake support. Install and tighten the wheel cylinder-to-brake support plate mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install brakeline into wheel cylinder. Tighten brakeline nut to specification.
  3. Install the rear brake shoes on the brake support plate. See REAR BRAKE SHOES .
  4. Install brake drum. Install wheel and tire assembly and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Adjust drum brake shoes. See REAR BRAKE SHOES  under ADJUSTMENTS. Remove brake pedal depressor tool. Bleed the brake-system as necessary. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM . Lower vehicle.
