Stoplight Switch: Installation

CAUTION: DO NOT reuse the original stoplight switch. The switch can only be adjusted once. If the switch is not adjusted properly or has been removed for service, a new switch must be installed and adjusted.
  1. Connect the wiring connector to the switch and latch the locking tab. Install the switch in its bracket by aligning the index tab on the stoplight switch with the slot in the mounting bracket. When the stoplight switch is fully seated in its bracket, rotate the switch clockwise approximately 30 degrees to lock the switch into place. See Figure.
  2. With the brake pedal in the fully released position, move the lever on the back of the stoplight switch from the angled non-adjusted position to the full vertical position. This will adjust the stoplight switch to the vehicle.
  3. Install silencer panel below steering column knee blocker. Reconnect the battery negative terminal.
  4. Check the stoplights to verify that they are operating properly and not staying on when the pedal is in the released position. Road test the vehicle to ensure proper operation of the brakes.
