Removal (Neon With ABS)
- With the engine not running, pump the brake pedal 4-5 times until firm pedal is achieved.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery and isolate the cable.
- Disconnect the positive cable from the battery, then remove the battery from the battery tray. There is one nut securing the clamp on the back side of the battery, holding it in place.
- Disconnect the brake fluid level switch wiring harness connector from the master cylinder reservoir. See Fig 1
.
- Disconnect the primary and secondary brake tubes from master cylinder. See Fig 1
. Install plugs in the master cylinder outlet ports.
- Clean the area around where the master cylinder attaches to the power brake booster using a suitable brake cleaner such as Mopar(R) Brake Parts Cleaner or an equivalent.
- Remove the 2 nuts attaching master cylinder to power brake booster. See Fig 1
.
- Slide the master cylinder straight out of the power brake booster.
