Instrument Cluster Self-Diagnostics

  1. As a quick diagnosis, instrument cluster will perform a function check immediately after ignition is switch is turned to RUN or START position. Electronic display, odometer/transmission range indicator and all warning lights except low fuel, cruise, high beam, foglights and turn signal will illuminate for a brief period. If cluster is not receiving PCI bus messages, cluster will appear non-functional and NO BUS will be displayed in odometer display.
  2. Instrument cluster self-test procedure can be initialized by pressing and holding the odometer reset button and turning ignition switch is turned to RUN or START. Instrument cluster will perform various steps to internally check operation.
  3. If instrument cluster is not functioning properly or not receiving PCI bus messages, see BODY CONTROL MODULES - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M (2002) or BODY DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES (2003). If instrument cluster is operating and receiving PCI messages, go to RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES .
